The orginal drivers side cylinder block developed leaks and needed to be replaced in 2010.

The slippers keep the pistion straight and aligned when working backwards and forwards inside the engine unit.

These are the two valves, one for each side. The new assembly shown above needs to be bolted on and the rings fitted.
They go backwards and forwards, although the amount they move is controlled by the forward reverse lever in the cab. The amount they move controls the amount of steam is used in each stroke.
