KP wagons were used thoughout New Zealand to move general goods. As they are 4 wheeled wagons they were restricted to slower speeds and were eventually removed from service in the 1990's. These wagons were sold without wheels to the public - they can be seen on building sites and farms. Some were saved by rail groups and are often used to store large items as they are water proof and secure.
KP22279 came over from the F Group in Palmerston North. It is used at FDSRS for storage.
