Feilding and District Steam Rail Society On Facebook

Feilding and District Steam Rail Society was formed with the intention of rebuilding a New Zealand steam locomotive. We have now changed to dedicate our efforts to the restoration of ex-Railways locomotives and rolling stock to full working order and to share our love of steam with all the communities we visit.
The Society is based in Feilding, near Palmerston North on the North Island of New Zealand. Its primary purpose is to rebuild, maintain and operate heritage railway equipment to the highest possible standard.

February 1997 saw the New Zealand Railway and Locomotive Society’s WAB, built in 1927, moved from Ferrymead to Feilding.

Over the years we have housed steam locomotives F 163, X 442 and Diesels: DSA 227, DA 1401 and TR 13.
They have become residents of the Feilding and District Steam Rail Society.

Revenue gained from excursions and events is re-invested in the Society to continue our restoration and maintenance work. The Society is registered charity CC24390 under the Charities Act 2005.
